Plan The Best Church Youth Conference Ever

Does your church host a youth conference for your teenagers every year? If so, maybe the conference for 2020 will be held this summer. If you are the head of the planning committee, you are more than likely looking for ideas that will make this year's event the best one your youth have ever attended. You've come to the right place to get some ideas that will make this year's conference memorable and fun.

Since it is a church conference, you are probably wanting at least part of the conference to have a spiritual feeling to it. Think about having a dynamic speaker that will inspire your young men and young women to have more spirituality in their lives. Maybe there is a married couple in your congregation that the kids look up to. Would they be good presenters? Whether it's an individual or a couple, be sure to give pertinent information. For instance, if there is a theme for your event, ask the speaker or speakers to focus on that theme.

Besides the keynote presentation, it would probably be fun for the kids to be divided into groups that will go to different workshops. Again, find leaders that will hold the young people's attention. Set a time limit for the different workshops and give a five-minute warning that time is almost up.

Of course, you want some fun activities, too. Those can be both service-oriented and enjoyable at the same time. For example, a service project where the youth visit an orphanage and play games with the children would be fun for both the children and the teens. Another idea is to get permission to go to a local park or even a cemetery to work on the grounds. Get specific instructions on what is needed at the place where you will have the project. For example, if benches need painting, will you need to provide the paint, or will it be provided for you?

End the conference with something that all the youth will enjoy. For instance, maybe in the past, there has always been a dance at the end of the conference. Consider the fact that some of the attendees may not enjoy dancing. With that in mind, maybe it would be fun to set up different tables that hold board games or crafts the youth can work on.

Think of having somebody take pictures throughout the youth conference so that they can be displayed on a bulletin board. In fact, some of the youth might be very happy to be in charge of that.
